MP RACING'S HISTORY
MP Racing was founded in January of 2003 in Indianapolis, Indiana by Champ Car driver Mark Plourde. With the help of the Plourde family and their deep racing history, The MP Racing team was slowly built and came together. The team made its on-track debut at the Champ Car World Series Spring Training in Sebring, Florida on February 4, 2003 as a one car effort with Mark Plourde behind the wheel of the #20 Visteon sponsored MP Racing Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone machine.
MP Racing's inaugural season (2003) saw the team go through some growing pains as they employed four different team managers and alot of different team personnel in search of the right combination. However, by the end of that first season the final results were solid. The team started all 18 races earning twelve top-10 finishes including six top-five showings and three podium finishes. Mark Plourde finished 6th in the championship point standings that season. The team has participated in the Champ Car World Series every season since 2003.
